The Schneegas Wildlife Foundation works closely with, but is not funded by, the Colorado Division of Wildlife, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service or any local government or animal control departments. The Foundation accepts all species of wildlife brought in by these public agencies as well as by citizens.

The Schneegas Wildlife Foundation primarily serves Garfield, Mesa, Pitkin, Eagle, Gunnison and Rio Blanco counties and takes in wildlife from all over the state for care and rehabilitation.
